2020 was no different, as CySEC Chairwoman opened the virtual event with her keynote speech addressing the financial services sector.
Ms Kalogerou spoke about the COVID-19 pandemic, its long-term economic consequences as well as the impact on technology and the importance of digitising financial processes. The state of the markets and the shift to greater interest in financial markets, FX, Contracts for Difference (CFDs) and capital markets, as well as Brexit and sustainable finance are all factors at play in the future of the industry.
The Chairwoman stressed the importance of the recovery of the European economy “with reformed processes, better supervision and more resilient operations”.
